Kentucky Horse Park

We caught these two horses playing after a work out in the paddock by the big barn. 

I was taking many pictures while they played, and was thrilled that I caught them rearing.

The campground was actually very nice, but the showers were freezing cold.  We drove thru the area of the many horse farms.  Beautiful country, magnificant homes, and needless to say, many gorgeous horses.

 

McCain Makes a Mockery of his "America First" Platform

John McCain's Campaign Platform is "America First".  But did he really put America First when he chose Sarah Palin to be his Vice President?  Here's a recent video of Palin commenting on the Vice Presidential position..... 

Obama Speech Beats Olympic Viewership Record

According to New York Times, Nielson Media Research reported that 38 Million Americans watched Obamas's Acceptance Speech at the Democratic National Convention. 

More than 80,000 attended the speech at the mile high stadium.

This makes Obama's speech the most watched Convention Speech in US History.  More people watched Obama's speech than watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.

Obama Choses No Nonsense Biden for VP

Congratulations to Barack Obama on his choice of Senator Joe Biden to be his VP.  Senator Biden is a foreign policy expert, and heads the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.  As opposed to John McCain, Senator Biden actually knows the difference between Sunnis and Shias, and the names of the States that border Iraq. 

Senator Biden has authored many successful bills while in the Senate; including bills to increase funding for police and also a bill to reduce domestic violence.  Notably, Biden didn't author bills that he is now against like Senator McCain.

Additionally, Senator Biden is also an expert on the working the US Government, and formerly headed he Senate Judiciary Committee. 

Biden has a son who is a a member of the National guard and is a JAG Officer.  He will soon be deploying to Iraq.  Biden is from a working family, and his wife Jill is an educator, and has taught for over 27 years.

In comparison to John McCain, Joe Biden actually knows how many homes he has (1), and the car he drives (a Ford F-150).  Joe Biden is a strong Catholic, and actually attends church.  While he has been known the wordy from time to time, Biden also can be simple and direct; after all it was Biden who came up with the quip that shut down Giuliani; ie that each of his sentences has a noun, verb, and 9-11 in it.

Biden's Foreign Policy expertise, knowledge of the law and workings of the US Senate, his working class background, his ability to craft legislation, as well as his direct talk will make him a great addition to the Obama Ticket.

McCain Adds Another Crony to His Campaign

The disgraced Ralph Reed, who teamed with Jack Abramoff to dupe Southern Christians into providing funds to expand Casino Gambling, is now on the John McCain team.  Jack Abramoff ended up in jail.  Somehow, Ralph Reed escaped it.  Its clear that Ralph Reed used the Christian Coalition solely as a front to exploit hapless Southern Baptists and other Southern Christians into supporting criminal and political schemes. 

Just when you get convinced that McCain is taking the low road, he surprises everyone, and finds even a lower road to take on his path to be President.  If McCain's Campaign is any indication of what his administration would be like, we should all be afraid.    

Putting McCain in Perspective

This new and very effective video pulls no punches as it compares Presidential Candidate John McCain to President Bush.  Meanwhile McCain has a new ad out that reiterates statements that he is a Maverick.  The video below clearly shows McCain isn't a Maverick, he's practically a clone of President Bush. 

This ad indicates that the trajectory of McCain's positions is diametrically opposed to the will of the people.  McCain is clearly heading off in a direction that the American people don't want to follow. 

The ad makes it clear that McCain's Candidacy has devolved into a fringe candidacy.  Regardless of this, McCain repeatedly redoubles his support for positions that are supported by only 1 in 4 Americans.

In the ad, you can see Chris Matthews making a statement about President Bush lying again.  Note that not only has John McCain been voting exclusively with President Bush, he has now picked up one of Bush's key characteristics; incessant lies and distortion of the truth.  This was clearly evident in McCains Olympic advertisements which misstate Obama'a positon on taxes, McCain said Obama is raising taxes onthe middle class, Obama says just the opposite.

McCain, Obama Court Ethnic Votes

John McCain today attended a campaign lunch at the Sausage Haus in Columbus, Ohio.  According to reports, McCain met with a half dozen local businessmen of German descent.

The rationale for the McCain campaign to set up and publicize an event with these 6 ethnic supporters is unclear. 

We do know that in part, the Sausage Haus lunch was a replacement for a speech that McCain had planned on giving from an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico.  McCains's planned speech from the oil rig was hastily canceled after a collision between and oil barge and oil tanker left a 12 mile long oil slick.  The McCain Campaign attributed the cancellation to "weather". 

In contrast, Barack Obama also held an event with ethnic Germans and American Expats, in Berlin Germany.  The event, attended by 200,000 Germans, Europeans, and US Expats, many waving US Flags, was apparently a blow out (click photo to enlarge).  Notably, the Bush Administration ordered that US Government Embassy personnel were not to attend the event.

Obama's stop in Germany followed his visit to Afghanistan and Iraq. 

Obama's trip was an interesting one; after the Prime Minister of Iraq said he agreed with Obama's Iraq Policy of removing US troops, the US Military promptly released a statement saying that this wasn't true.  The US Military stated that there had been translation error; which there wasn't. 

To make it perfectly clear, an Iraq Governement spokesman then repeated the Prime Ministers statement, this time in English.  Shame on the US Military command for participating in Bush Administration partisan politics, by trying to deceive the American People.

Jealous McCain, trying to jab at Obama, then made a false claim that reduction in violence in al anbar province was due to the surge, when in actuallity it occurred prior to the surge and was due to local militias kicking out al Queda (which the US let in).  CBS then became complicit in MCains fabrication by airing a broadcast in which McCain's erroneous statement was edited out.  Furthermore, CBS edited the interview to substitute negative statments about Obama in place of the McCains response to the question.  Shame on CBS.

In addition to having a sucessful meeting with leaders in both Iraq and Afghanistan, Obama was well received by US troops.  Obama remains on his game and even managed to pull off this three point jumper on the first try.

Did French Corporate Lobbyists Steer McCain to Cancel $100B Boeing tanker Contract?

Its well known that Presidential Candidate John McCain was probably singlehandedly responsible for getting a USAF $100 Billion Tanker contract to Boeing canceled.  The contract was subsequently awarded to Airbus instead. 

But its now coming to light that McCain has 7 corporate Lobbyists representing Airbus on his Campaign Staff.  Not only does McCain have French Corporate Lobbyists on his campaign staff, but they are also significant financial contributors to his campaign.
